Email Authentication: DMARC, DKIM, and SPF

Phishing, spam, and malware are serious threats. Well over half of all email on the Internet falls into one or more of these categories. The old spam-filtering and virus-checking programs are not solving these problems; they're only creating an ever-escalating war.

Email authentication, on the other hand, really works. The combination of DMARC, DKIM, and SPF has brought dramatic improvements in email safety and reputation (as well as drastically reduced malware traffic) for the email service providers (including their customers) and domain owners who have adopted it.

All of the major email service providers (including Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Apple, and many others) and many major companies that provide their own email infrastructure (such as PayPal, LinkedIn, Facebook, and many banks) now support this 3-part package of email authentication technologies, and they are reaping the benefits.

Now is the time for Hover to join this community of email authentication supporters.

There is plenty of support available for implementing these technologies. Hover does not have to reinvent any wheels.

Please implement DMARC, DKIM, and SPF for Hover email customers as soon as possible, even if you have to send your customers to external DNS providers to do it.

Not having this in place will soon become a serious competitive disadvantage, as the benefits of fully authenticated email become clear to the mailbox customer base.

Thanks for listening.
