Troubleshooting Hover email on your iPhone or iPad (Updated Aug, 2015)

If you can receive mail on your iPhone or iPad, but you cannot sent it, follow these steps to check that your settings are correct.

1. Tap Settings on your home screen.

 

 

2. Scroll down, and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

 

 

3. Tap your email account.

 

 

4. Tap your email account again.

 

 

5. In the Incoming Mail Server section, make sure that Host Name is set to mail.hover.com.

The User Name is your email address and Password is your email password.

 

 

6. Tap the Outgoing Mail Server.

 

 

7. Tap the Primary Server.

 

 

8. Make sure that your configuration is the same as what you see here, except that User Name should be your own email address.

The most common mistake is not completing the User Name and Password fields; they are not optional.

    Thanks for your advice but I still cannot send out email via iPhone, iPad or Android mobile device after double checked all the settings per what you suggested above, please advise what would be other possible problem, thanks.

    Hi Alvin, generally when troubleshooting the connection you want to follow these steps:

    1. Make sure the password is correct by logging in to webmail:  mail.hover.com (https://mail.hover.com/)
    1. Make sure the username (email address) and password are entered for both incoming and outgoing in the server settings.
    • You may notice the section for the outgoing server indicates the username and password are optional fields but they're actually necessary in order to authenticate.
    1. If you've tried the steps above and still have trouble connecting, change the outgoing port to 8025 with SSL disabled.
    • Particular server ports can sometimes cause some issues so you may want to check out our server settings article for a list of different ports you can try out.
