I am running Office 2013.  I have had my email account working inside outlook for several years with various versions of office.  Recently my ability to respond or send new emails has stopped working. When I run a test in account settings I get the following message:  Send test e-mail message: Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).  The server responded: 554 5.7.1 <END-OF-MESSAGE>: End-of-data rejected: user.

I am running this as a POP3 account, with an SMTP port of 465.

    Hi Ashraf,

Our forums are monitored but if you have an urgent issue, you should be contacting support directly.  You can reach us by email at help@hover.com, by phone at 1-866-731-6556 Mon-Fri between 8am - 11pm or on weekends 8am - 8pm EST.  You can also use the live chat feature during those hours as well.

We prefer you don't share your personal information on a live public forum as that exposes your information to the internet and potential spammers looking for email addresses online, and we don't want that, so for your own protection, I have removed your email address and domain from your previous post.

Based on what you provided, however, your domain is pointing to GoDaddy name servers, but your email is here with us.  That is fine, you can do this, but in order for email to work, there must be a valid MX record present on your name servers in the DNS zone.  When I do a dig on your domain name, there is no DNS for this domain.

You have to make sure the following MX record is updated on your GoDaddy name servers:

    Type: MX

    Priority: 10

    Hostname:  mx.hover.com.cust.hostedemail.com

Please update this in the DNS at GoDaddy and let us know if you have any further trouble with your Hover email.

Thanks for sharing that Alan! Lots of our Hover email users will find this helpful!

Microsoft has a known bug on Windows 10 release for Outlook for connecting the existing email records correctly. There are different instructions (on other sites.) You'll want to look for the information to scan "System File Checker" or "sfc"

If anyone is still stuck after trying the "sfc" instructions, let us know!

My question has to do with moving from POP3 on an existing account I've had for years to IMAP.  I have several backup/archive PSTs that I can access on just my PC, but would like to have universal access to the history.  As part of switching over and beginning to use my account in IMAP, how do I get my historical PST files also loaded so that all the history is in one place, easily accessed from a logon anywhere?  We did this at my office when they converted to Google aps, and all the history is in one place there.  How can I do that with my personal Hover account?  Thanks.

It would be nice to see some updated screenshots for Mac Outlook, as 2011 is now ancient. The 2011 instructions worked for me for the latest version of Outlook for Mac (Office 365), but I spent some time spinning my wheels since I'm not using Outlook 2011 and the screenshots for Outlook 2016 are for the Windows version, not the Mac version.

This page of instructions currently will confuse Mac users with the latest version of Outlook, as it did me. I had to spend time with your support folks via live chat to get things straight. :(
