No Hassle Renewals

Our "No Hassle" renewal feature will allow you to renew a domain or email address in Hover with no log in or access to the Hover user account required. This is useful if you have forgotten your log in credentials and need to renew right away to get your services back online, or if you want to renew for a friend or family member.

To renew a domain or personal email without logging into your Hover account, please follow these steps:

  1. Load in your web browser.
  2. Enter the domain name or personal email address you wish to renew in the text box (enter multiple domains separated by a space), then click CHECK DOMAIN.

  3. Select the number of years you wish to renew the domain for from the drop- down menu under the Term heading. Then click + to add the renewal to your shopping cart.

  4. When you've finished adding items to your shopping cart, click CHECKOUT.

  5. On the next page, pictured below, you can change the renewal term of any items in your shopping cart from the Term drop-down menu. When you're ready to proceed, click CONTINUE.
  6. You can choose to check our using your credit card or PayPal account by selecting the appropriate radio button.  If PayPal is selected, you will be redirected to a PayPal log in page to authorize the transaction.

Enter your billing details and then scroll down and click CONTINUE.

  7. Put a checkmark in the box indicating that you agree to the Hover terms of service, then click Finish.

  8. Your renewal is now complete. An Order ID will be displayed at the top of the page, as well as a link to a full invoice if you'd like to print one for your records.

This is not a domain renewal. This is just an email renewal. I was signed up for the email account and it stopped working.

Hi Robert - you can enter an email address instead of a domain name and renew it online with this method. If your email still doesn't work, please give us a call so we can give you a hand.

I just renewed a domain and received the email confirmation. However, it does not appear in the Recent Activity, there is no new invoice listed or available to print, and the renewal date listed did not update to the following year. Does it take a while for these things to change and be updated on your system (how long, if so?) or is there a problem that needs to be looked into and corrected by Hover? Who do I contact for help with getting this corrected, if so.

Hi Fernando,

When you are in your Hover account, you will see the status "Active" next to your email service.  If you were to Hover over your email address and select "cancel", then the status would change to "cancelled".  An active service means it's active and will be renewed (as long as you have up to date billing information saved under "settings").  If it's cancelled, it will not be renewed at the end of the term.

Hope this helps.

I renewed my domain over an hour ago, but no indication that it is actually being renewed.  no email Confirmation, the Domain is still listed as expired on my account page, there is no activity on the activity page, and the domain is still not active!!!!    Please advise.  This is not acceptable!

Hi Richard,

Renewals can take a bit of time (typically within the hour) to be processed on our end. I can see that your domain has been renewed, and you will now see it active under your Hover account.

I have renewed online my 2 domain names. and .net well over an hour ago. The charges for 2 years renewal show on my paypal account. Still, the domains have not been renewed. I have business accounts that need immediate attention. HELP!

Hi Mark,

It looks like your domains have been renewed for 2 years. The issue you're seeing is with the domains being suspended due to a failed ICANN verification. This is a quick fix.

Log into > click on one of the domains > edit the owner contact email which will trigger a new verification email. Follow the instructions within this email to get your domain verified. This verification is for the first name, last name, and email address attached to a domain, and only needs to be performed once for each combination. You simply need to use the same information on the second domain to get it verified, or any new domains. If the first name, last name, or email address is changed after this initial verification, you will be prompted to verify the newer information.

If you have any troubles with this, please feel free to shoot us an email at or give us a call (1-866-731-6556).

Hey I have recently gotten a few emails to renew expiring domains and I planned to do this through hover as I thought you were awesome and your support was amazing . I am now being asked to spend $75 per domain, is this correct? I have used godaddy for years and I remember paying like $10 or $12 / year per domain ? what is up with this price it seems ridiculous? I am seriously annoyed and wished I hadn't bragged and recommended you to my friends and clients, knowing that I've now screwed them in the coming years. Please explain to me why this cost is so high

Hi Brendan, it looks like there were some mailboxes associated with your domain. I sent a reply to your email help request with a link you can use to renew without the mailboxes, if you don't intend to keep them.

I think I just renewed my domain along with ordering 1 mailbox. The auto-renewal failed because I had just received a new debit card and it took some time getting through the mail. So I renewed manually. How long before my webmail becomes functional again?

Hi James,

Sometimes there is a brief delay after renewing a domain name while the domains nameservers propagate once again and new email can come through to email accounts on a particular domain name.

I've looked into this for you and it appears that the email is working at present!  Please feel free to let us know if you encounter any issues at all with the domain name or email accounts.

Dear Daniel,

Very sorry for the delay in getting back to your request. I can see your initial renewals failed but after this you renewed your services twice successfully and this is why the domain was renewed for two years. The reason your initial renewals failed was due to the period of time you were trying to renew the domain for. A domain can only be registered for a maximum of 10 years. Due to your renewal attempt being for 10 years this would add to the time that was remaining on your domain and this was registered as over 10 years and due to this the renewal failed initially but I am delighted your issue has since been resolved.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns Daniel and we would be happy to help you.

My domain has auto renewed successfully today and reports as active, yet the website is down since this happened (4 hours now). Can you direct me to the cause of this?

Thanks, Luke
