Common Email Programs

Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will allow you to use a different "From" address in your email software as long as you use the ISPs outgoing mail server settings. If you encounter any errors when trying to send email with your hover forwarding address, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider to find out if they block email spoofing.

Below, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to change the from address in common POP/IMAP email programs:

Set up your Forwarding

First you will need to set up your Hover Email forward to send to the email address you are recieving through your email program. We have put together an article on setting up your email forwarding here. Once that is done you can set up the sending using the following instructions:

Outlook Express / Windows Mail

1. Click on the Tools menu and select Accounts.
2. Highlight your email account under the Mail tab then click on Properties.
3. Enter your hover forwarding address in the "E-mail address" and "Reply address" fields.
4. Click Apply then click OK.

Microsoft Outlook

Outlook 2007:

1. Click on the Tools menu and select Account Settings.
2. Highlight your email account and click on the Change button.
3. In the User Information section, change the E-mail Address to your hover forwarding account.
4. Click Next and click Finish.

Outlook 2002/2003:

1. Click on the Tools menu and select E-mail Accounts.
2. Select "View or change existing e-mail accounts" then click Next.
3. Highlight your email account and click on the Change button.
4. In the User Information section, change the E-mail Address to your hover forwarding account.
5. Click Next and click Finish.

Mozilla Thunderbird

1. Click on Tools and select Account Settings.
2. Select your ISP email account from the list of accounts on the left hand side, then change the Email Address and Reply-to Address to your hover email forwarding address.
3. Click OK.

Apple Mail

1. Click on the Mail menu and select Preferences.
2. Change the Email Address entered in the Account Information to your hover forwarding address.
3. Close the Accounts window and click Save to save the changes to the account.

Entourage

1. Click on the Entourage menu and select Account Settings.
2. Select your account then click on the Edit button.
3. Change the email address to your hover forwarding address.
4. Click OK and close the Accounts window.

Evolution

1. Click on the Edit menu and select Preferences.
2. Select your email account then click on Edit.
3. Change the Email Address to your hover forwarding address.
4. Click OK then close the Evolution Preferences window.
