Domain Name Servers (also known as DNS servers) are used to point your domain name at your email provider, domain forwarding service, and/or web host provider.  This tutorial will show you how to point your domain name at specific name servers, such as name servers provided by your web host.

If you need to point a domain name at Hover to use our DNS services, please use the following name servers:

ns1.hover.com
ns2.hover.com
ns3.hover.com

Change Your Name Servers - Single Domain

  1. Log into your Hover account online at https://www.hover.com/login.
  2. If you have more than one domain name listed in your account, click on the domain name that you want to use with customized DNS records.  This will take you to its Domain Details page.

  3. Click on the Edit button in the Nameservers section.

  4. Your existing name servers will be displayed in the text boxes.  Type your new name servers into the text boxes and click on Save

If you need additional name server text boxes click on the Add button.

Change Your Name Servers - Multiple Domains

To change name servers for multiple domains in your account, complete the following steps:

  1. Under the Name Servers tab, put a check next to each domain name that you want to modify, then select Replace Nameservers from the drop down list and click on Batch Edit.

  2. Enter your new name servers and click on Save.  Use the Add button for more text boxes if you need to use more than two name servers.
