Change Your Domain Name System (DNS) Servers
This lesson explains how you can edit the Domain Name System (DNS) servers or name servers that your domain is pointed at.
In order to use Hover services such as domain forwarding, Hovers, and email, your name servers need to be pointed to Hover (ns1.hover.com and ns2.hover.com).
However, if you're using third party web hosting services your web host provider may instruct you to change your name servers.
Log into Hover

Log into your Hover account at: https://www.hover.com/login
Select the Domain to Modify

Click on the Services tab then click on the domain name that needs new name servers.
Change Name Servers

Select the Account tab then click on Name Servers.

In most cases the domain will be locked. To unlock your domain click on domain settings.

Change the Lock Status to Unlocked then click on Save.

Edit the Name Servers and click on Add Another if you need to enter more than two servers. Click on Save when completed.

"Your name servers have been updated" is displayed to confirm that the changes were saved. To ensure the security of your domain name, click on Registry Records and change your Lock Status back to Locked.
Please note that any changes to your name servers may take up to 48 hours to propagate to all Internet Service Providers.
