DNS SOA (Start of Authority) record sometimes appear incorrectly

Monday, March 15th, 2010
12:36 pm Eastern Time

We’ve been investigating an issue over the past few days where our DNS SOA (Start of Authority) record sometimes appear to be incorrect. If you have been affected, chances are that you haven’t noticed.

Even small blips on DNS Resolution need to be addressed, and we have worked with our Engineers to get this fixed. The root cause of the problem has been identified and we are rolling out a fix for all affected domains over the next couple of weeks. If you think your domain is being affected and you wish a more immediate fix, please report the problem to a Hover Customer Advisor by calling 1-866-731-6556 or by email using help@hover.com. Individual domains can be fixed on request.

A special thanks to Richard Danielli, president of eSubnet Enterprises. Richard brought this issue to our attention after noticing a problem with a client’s domains in Hover. His expert advice helped us to identify the issue and expedite a solution.
